Bob Dylan’s 38th album, Triplicate, was released this Friday. The album features an entire 30 songs, all great examples of the American songwriting tradition from before the generation Dylan is known for. Backed by the soothing, passive sounds of his well-practiced touring band, Bob Dylan’s weathered vocals are allowed to dominate the record with impressive capability. Usually known for mumbled lyrics and whiny vowels, Triplicate features reassuringly accurate, nonintrusive tributes to an era when lengthy melodies and jazz chords ruled.
Standout Tracks: It’s Funny to Everyone But Me, Sentimental Journey, Stardust
