The countdown is officially on. Chicago is about to turn up because Sueños 2026 is taking over Grant Park this weekend!
Your favorite UIC Radio podcast and blog, Don’t Tell Mom, is officially covering the biggest Latin music festival in the Midwest this year! We are taking you guys along with us, going from the campus podcasts straight to the media pits. To say we are hyped is a massive understatement, and absolutely grateful for the opportunity.
Here is exactly what we are losing our minds over as we pack our cameras and festival fits:

The Nostalgia & The Memes: 3BallMTY + Dr. Simi
Sueños really went all out with the last-minute lineup additions they actually added 3BallMTY to the lineup to bring back those classic, high-energy tribal beats. Get ready for the pointed boots energy because the nostalgia is going to hit heavy. And speaking of internet-breaking additions the literal legend Dr. Simi is making an official appearance. We fully expect to see custom plushies flying through the air all weekend.

The Heavy Hitters We Can't Miss
Kali Uchis:
We are entirely ready to transcend during her set. Her ethereal dream-pop energy is going to look and sound absolutely beautiful right against the Chicago skyline as the sun goes down with a new tour, and we're the first stop!

Fuerza Regida:
To close things out, Sunday night belongs to them. The energy is going to be incredibly loud, heavy, and packed with pure regional Mexican power. There is no better way to wrap up a weekend in the city than shouting those corridos with thousands of people.

Follow Along with Us!
As a student-run team from UIC Radio, getting to cover an event of this scale in our own backyard is massive. We’ll be on the ground capturing the best festival fashion, , grading the food vendors, and bringing you the front-row energy all weekend long.
Keep your eyes glued to the Don’t Tell Mom and UIC Radio social channels and make sure to tune into UIC Radio.
