A Letter to Gaza

Thankful for Gaza the most communal place on Earth right now. A place where individuals put their community before themselves and money is meaningless. We witness this on a daily basis as guys attempt to save lives by diving under or above rubble while wearing no shoes. They do this without terror and with no thought of anything other than saving as many people as they can before paramedics arrive. People sharing their food and resources with others, and people giving away their chickens, makes me think of how, in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Americans were fighting over toilet paper. I imagined that if something similar to what is happening in Gaza occurred here, people would take up arms in the grocery stores.
