A mini rant pt1

Welcome back! It's been a while, hasn't it?

Chicago weather has been bipolar as usual; some days the sun is shining and other days it's raining and as if it couldn't get any worse... it starts snowing! I don't know if anyone else agrees but I can't wait for it to officially be summer. I'm tired of the cold weather and I can't be the only one. I used to strictly be a fall girly but ever since last summer, I've come to appreciate the summer too. I wish fall wasn't so fleeting, but I think that's what makes me appreciate it more. It's such a short season.

As the seasons change, so does what I have on rotation with my music playlist. As of recently, I've started to listen to The Maria's more than usual, especially their latest album titled, "Submarine" (which is a 10/10 by the way.) To me, The Maria's would be what I imagine summer and spring sound like if they were to be music. Maria's vocals always make me feel like I'm transcending and going into another dimension. Their latest two singles, "Back to me" and "Nobody new" have been especially in my rotation. I don't know if anyone else does this, but I have the bad habit of listening to the same songs on repeat until I either get sick of them or end up finding another new song to obsess over and play on a loop over and over again. It's a vicious cycle.

Speaking of The Maria's, I'm so excited to see them at Lollapalooza! I remember when they came to Chicago a few months ago and at the time, I knew of them and liked them, but I wasn't a huge fan back then. Now with them coming back, I feel like I have a second chance to get to experience their music live. There are so many people that I'm excited to see at Lollapalooza, and now thinking about it, I think I might document it and write about it here in the future. Stay tuned for that! As for everyone else that's going to be attending the festival, here's a quick reminder to stay hydrated 24/7 and just be safe! I hope everyone ends up having a good time and let's manifest that summer arrives sooner rather than later.
