Hi again everyone! Halloween is over, the leaves are starting to fall, and we're gearing up to for the final half of the fall season. I thought now would be a good time to give some fall album recs! These albums are some of my personal favorites for this time of year, so I'm going to specifically focus on what makes them good albums for the fall. So, I won't be doing full-on reviews of these albums in this post, this is mostly just for fun! Enough of the rambling though...

evermore - Taylor Swift

Who's shocked? Let's get this first one out of the way so we can get into the juicier bits. "evermore" is an album that was basically engineered to be listened to in the fall. Not only do most of the songs comprise of ballads with a warm production, but the songwriting on this album is very intentional and is hiding some of her best work to date. Songs like "cowboy like me" and "ivy" explore topics that are told to you in a storybook manner, and yet you are still able to find some relatability throughout them. This is true for a lot of songs on "evermore", but there are still songs on here that feel like classic Taylor Swift. For example, "willow" and "gold rush". Despite Taylor Swift being such a big artist now, this album is one of her most disregarded albums among the public, which is a shame. I will say, this album is really in its prime during fall. This album pairs best with a chilly walk in a light jacket while stepping over all the colored leaves. Highly recommend.
Sling - Clairo

Grab your tote bag and your overpriced matcha because it's Clairo time!! "Sling" is a slightly polarizing album in her already-small catalog. While I wouldn't say this album is the gold standard for making an indie-pop record, it definitely has great fall-listening potential. "Amoeba" is still one of my favorite Clairo songs to this day and is a good example what to expect from the rest of the album. The production of this album is simple, but peaceful and puts you in the mood to think about where you're at in life (for better or for worse). "Bambi" is a song I always turn to on a late-night walk back from the library, or when I'm strolling around the city by myself trying to survive the wind that is mercilessly attacking me. "Partridge" is another one of my favorites. Clairo's songwriting can be a little hard to parse sometimes, but if you are just looking for some good fall vibes, then you've found the right place!
Stick Season Forever - Noah Kahan

Here's another album that was absolutely made with fall in mind. I honestly didn't listen to any of Noah Kahan's music before he released this deluxe version of "Stick Season", so maybe I'm a little late to the party. Regardless, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this album is perfect for this time of year. The title track is obviously super iconic, and for good reason. I also really enjoy "Everywhere, Everything" and "She Calls Me Back", both the original and the versions with Gracie Abrams and Kacey Musgraves. I haven't taken a close look at the whole album as a package, so I won't give a concrete opinion about the project as a whole. But at the very least, I know it's good enough to hit play on a cold afternoon.
Atlanta Millionaires Club - Faye Webster

This is such a cool album. I love the concept, and it's all executed very well. I love love love the weird country-jazz hybrid that's done throughout this record. That production style is probably the reason why it hits different at this time of year. Obviously, I love "Kingston" and "Jonny", which are some of Faye's most well-known songs, but "Hurts Me Too" and "Right Side Of My Neck" are also some of my favorites. I would say most of Faye's discography lends itself quite well to this time of year, but I would say this album is definitely the most 'fall' out of all of them. Definitely give it a listen if you haven't yet.
The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We - Mitski

Truly one of the best albums that came out as a result of the country resurgence of 2023. Mitski struck gold with the song "My Love Mine All Mine", which everyone and their mom has heard at this point, but there is so much more fall potential hiding away on this album. Every fall since this album has released, "Heaven" has easily entered my top 10 streamed songs throughout every week of fall. On that note, "Heaven" is so severely underrated. For Mitski to make one of those love songs that makes your heart feel warm, it's not something you see very often, ESPECIALLY from an artist who tends to make you feel the opposite when listening to her music. Nonetheless, "Star", "The Deal", and "I'm Your Man" are also among my favorites. There's also plenty of good crash-out songs on this record, such as "I Don't Like My Mind". Perfect for when midterm grades come out! Whether you need a song to fall in love to, pine about love, or a song that will put you into a fetal position, Mitski's got you covered for this fall season! So go on and listen!
Wrapping Up
There we have it folks! 5 albums that you should have on your radar this fall. Whether you're looking out a window in a dark coffee shop, or strolling around campus trying to romanticize it all, these albums are perfect for any fall occasion. I hope I've convinced you to give any of these albums a try. If not, when have I ever been wrong? Like uh, never. So, you should just listen anyway. Ok time to reel it back in though... thanks as always for reading! Stare at some pretty leaves and stay warm out there!
