Hey everyone! The new year is finally in full-swing, and so we finally have gotten some new album announcements. In case you've been tuned out, today I'm going to summarize some projects we can expect to come out this year.
Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally
Harry Styles

Just a couple days ago, Harry Styles announced his long-awaited new album. As someone who knows a lot of Harry Styles fans, it feels like it's all I've heard about. Based on the first single, Aperture, it seems like he's headed towards techno for this album. Even though I may not be the biggest Harry Styles fan, I can't deny that I'm looking forward to giving it a listen when it releases on March 6th.
Arirang
BTS

Another highly anticipated album, BTS is also returning in March with their new album Arirang. After almost a 4 year gap since their last album, many are excited to see the K-Pop groups big return. While there isn't a lot of information on the project yet, they have announced a world tour that is already looking to be incredibly successful. That just goes to show that the world is ready for BTS' return on March 20th.
DEADLINE
Blackpink

Another big K-Pop act is returning in 2026. After releasing their new(ish) single Jump, Blackpink is making a comeback with this 5 track mini-album. Again, there isn't a lot of info on this project as of now, but keep this one on your radar. It releases on February 27th.
Lana Del Rey (Stove?)

In typical Lana fashion, she's announced her newest project (titled Stove) and has slated it for a January release, and yet we have heard nothing about this album in months, with no release date in sight. I'm starting to question whether this project will ever see the light of day. She's released two singles at this point, Henry, come on and Bluebird, and has also played several unreleased songs at her live shows and previewed some tracks on social media.
While this project is surrounded by a bunch of question marks,
I believe there is a strong possibility Lana will make a return this year.
Phoebe Bridgers

For years, indie pop fans have been clamoring for Phoebe to return with a new album. She hasn't released any solo projects since Punisher in 2021. Despite no confirmation from the singer of any new music, there are a lot of rumors circulating that she will finally return in 2026. This information comes from a variety of sources. All we can do for now is hope and pray for her to make an announcement.
MUNA

I'm a huge fan of MUNA. After the band took a small break to focus on solo efforts, such as Katie Gavins' solo-album What A Relief, they have recently been teasing on social media that their latest album is near completion, and may possibly be on the way sooner than I expected. I'm unsure what they may try to accomplish with this new record, but I'm seated and ready to receive this new album.
That's all I've got for today! I'm also looking forward to Mitski's new album Nothing's About To Happen To Me and the highly anticipated 3rd Olivia Rodrigo album, but I think I'll save those topics for a later date. Since so many of these projects have an air of mystery around them, I didn't get to speak about them as much as I would have liked, but that's okay! That just means I'll have more to talk about when they finally release. With that being said, thank you so much for reading, and have a great week!
