On Friday, March 29th, I had the opportunity to have a conversation with Storm Reid! Before we go through the details, let me tell you more about her journey.
WHO IS STORM REID?
Storm Reid is a 20-year-old actress based in Atlanta, GA. As a kid (from the age of 3), she aspired to be an actor. She pursued her dreams by acting in movies and TV shows. 📺

Reid started her career by performing Erica in a dramatic film, A Cross to Bear. This early start, at 13 years old, allowed her to grow in her acting career.

EUPHORIA Storm Reid plays Gia Bennett in Euphoria, an HBO show about high school students navigating challenges. Gia is the younger sister of the main character, Rue, who battles drug addiction. Storm's role is crucial because it highlights how each other's decisions impact family members. Although she isn't featured in every scene, her presence is deeply felt. You can sense her character's love for her sister and her efforts to understand the situation. Storm adds a lot of warmth to the show; Gia's scenes are all moving.
Storm Reid brings something special to these roles, from a caring sister and a determined daughter to a courageous friend, proving she is an actress who can handle any challenge.

MISSING
In the movie Missing, Storm Reid plays June Allen, a teenager whose mom goes missing during a trip to Colombia. Instead of waiting for others to help, June uses her skills to figure out what happened to her mom. Storm makes you believe that June can solve this mystery, and she will. The cool part about this movie is that everything is happening through a computer screen. It feels like you're discovering clues with June. The movie has lots of surprises that keep you guessing until the end. And even after watching it once, you'll want to see it again because there are hidden details you might have missed.

THE LAST OF US
Storm Reid joins the cast of The Last of Us, a drama series inspired by a popular video game. She brings to life the character Riley Abel. Riley is brave and adventurous, sharing a close bond with Ellie, one of the main characters. Their story highlights friendship in a world devastated by a pandemic. Although Riley's role in the series isn't very long, Storm's performance is impactful. Her portrayal illustrates how Riley's courage and kindness significantly influence Ellie's journey.

Looking through her work, she has hustled to achieve her dream of acting. Because of her commitment and practice, she has recently won an Emmy award for "Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series"! This is a massive win to the community as she is the youngest in our generation to receive an Emmy award

Who are your current inspirations in the acting industry? S. Reid: Zendaya (Z for short)
As a 20-year-old, what advice would you give to aspiring young actors? S. Reid: In order to get to the role you want to pursue, you need to follow the path that builds your experience!
What hobbies do you have? S. Reid: I enjoy cooking, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. I like doing activities with the people I'm close to.
What types of acting projects do you see yourself pursuing? S. Reid: I can see myself pursuing something similar to a Rom-Com.
What are some long-term goals you have for yourself? S. Reid: I don't believe in setting goals. I go with the flow and learn as I go! ❤️
