Favorite Things about Battle of The Bands 2019

Saturday, April 19th, UIC Radio hosted their 6th annual Battle of Bands event at the Bottom Lounge.

I will not review this event because I was part of it, and my review would be biased. However, I will still tell you what I loved about it. For those who don’t know, the winners of the night get to open for Spark in the Park. An annual concert hosted by UIC SAB and UIC Radio.

The first thing that I loved was the location. The room at the Bottom Lounge was super cute. I want to have a party for no reason; specifically, I just want to go there again. If you’re following me on social media, you probably saw several selfies and videos.

I also loved the way in which this event came to life. I was part of it in the long run and to be honest I was not positive all the time. I literally invited everyone I know: both UIC students and non-UIC students. A lot of people backed down with other plans, but you know what? It was okay. The Bottom Lounge was full, and I still had a lot of fun with my friends.

The bands were very cool and very professional. Some had some issues with the equipment while on stage but you know what they say; the show must go on, and so it did. Thank goodness, I was not one of the judges because I had several favorites. Shout out to Skylight Cinema who were the winners of the night. I loved seeing their reactions when the winners were announced. I was able to read one of the members mouths while saying “wait, what?” They couldn’t believe it.

To wrap it up. Please keep reading and stay tuned with more events like this. There is a lot of work and dedication placed on these events, and believe me, they are worth it.

El sábado 19 de abril, UIC Radio organizó la batalla anual de bandas en el salón Bottom Lounge.

No evaluare este evento porque formé parte de él y se veria inparcial. Sin embargo, todavía te diré lo que me encantó. Para aquellos que no lo saben, los ganadores de la noche abren para Spark in the Park. Un concierto anual presentado por UIC SAB y UIC Radio.

Lo primero que me encantó fue la ubicación. La habitación en el Bottom Lounge era super linda. Quiero tener una fiesta sin ninguna razón específica, solo quiero ir allí otra vez. Si me estás siguiendo en las redes sociales, probablemente hayas visto varios selfies y videos.

También me encantó la forma en que este evento cobró vida. A la larga, formé parte de ello y, para ser sincera, no siempre fui positiva. Literalmente invité a todos los que conozco. Tanto estudiantes de la UIC como no estudiantes de la UIC. Mucha gente no pude ir por que tenian otros planes, pero ¿sabes qué? estuvo bien. El salón inferior estaba lleno. Y aun asi me diverti con mis amigos.

Las bandas fueron myu buenas y muy profesionales. Algunos tuvieron algunos problemas con el equipo mientras estaban en el escenario, pero ya sabes lo que dicen. El show debe continuar y así fue. Gracias a Dios, no era uno de los jueces porque tenía varios favoritos. Felicidades a Skylight Cinema a los ganadores de la noche. Me encantó ver sus reacciones cuando se anunciaron los ganadores. Pude leerle los labios a uno de los miembros mientras decía “espera qué”. No podían creerlo.

Yo me diveri mucho. Por favor, sigue leyendo y estad atentos con más eventos como estos. Hay mucho trabajo y dedicación en estos eventos y créeme que valen la pena.
