Black Fashion Icons That Have Set the Tone

Prince: This musician not only turned heads with his music but also his spontaneous style. Ranging from suits and crop-tops to his famous chaps; Prince’s fashion sense inspired others to be as creative as they wished in every aspect. Many disliked Prince for his bright style, and most couldn’t understand it but his fans appreciate him for giving them the confidence to follow in his footsteps!

Rihanna: We can’t discuss fashion without introducing Rihanna. Rihanna can put anything together for any event. Although she refuses to drop an album, she definitely has blessed us with her makeup, lingerie, and high-end fashion line. Rihanna has definitely proven to be multi-talented.

Diana and Tracee Ellis Ross: Like mother, like daughter! Diana Ross has paved the way in fashion, and Tracee has followed in her footsteps. Known for her beautiful voice and her amazing gowns, Diana has seemed to pass the stylish gene onto Tracee. Tracee’s style is more laid back and definitely gets the job done.

Janet Jackson: Our good sis, Janet! Firstly, Janet has vocals, style, and BODY; she definitely let her fans know that she puts in work. Most of her fans really admire her style, especially in the 80s and 90s. Now everyone is inspired to recreate her looks. We loved Janet’s well-known high waist jeans paired with her bandeau tops, her famous “Rhythm Nation” look, the baseball jersey and beret she wore in ” Poetic Justice,”  and the outfit she wore for “The Pleasure Principle” music video.
