while researching early modern print media, i found out about the golden age of illustration: a period of beautiful book and magazine art spanning from the late 1800s to the 1930s. one of my personal favorite publications from this era is the saturday evening post. most notably, norman rockwell, one of america's most popular artists, illustrated cover art for this magazine for almost 50 years. the covers exude heightened realism, intricate detail, and pure americana.
