Featured Song of The Day

Like millions of other people in the world, I listen to music everyday. Recently I have noticed that I tend to replay a certain song throughout a day over and over again. Sometimes it is the same song for a few days but it’s usually a new song everyday. I like to put my music player on shuffle and sometimes I come across a song I haven’t listened to in a long time. It is like rediscovering the song.

I started this idea on my personal music website that I run with a few buddies from high school and my younger brother. I thought I might as well bring it on here for UIC Radio. Check out my website Sam Is Dead. I post new music on there in addition to everything I put up on here. The other members do too. We try to put up music that most people may not have heard about. It’s a great way to discover some new tracks.

With that being said today’s featured track is “Dehydration” by Mick Jenkins which is off of his most recent project titled, The Water[s]. He recently released a music video for this track. I have been listening to this project a lot in the past few months. It is a great hip hop mixtape. I would say it is one of the best of the year. It is a great piece work by a Chicago native.
