The Two Lips are a rising duo that were meant to make music from the very beginning. Connected by an invisible string, Jewlz and Andrea finally collaborated in 2023 to create their first single, “Do You Even Know?” and from there, The Two Lips (formerly known as The Tulips) began to blossom.
On December 13, 2024, The Two Lips released “still love you (todavía)”. The usage of English and Spanish lyrics contributed to the dreamy sound the girls created, but it also drew in a larger audience of listeners. With over 47 million streams on Spotify, “still love you (todavía)” boosted The Two Lips' rise to fame. When I first discovered them, they only had around 50,000 listeners on Spotify. Today, their listeners have grown to 2 million! #GOTWOLIPS
The Two Lips kicked off their Kiss & Tell Tour this past July, performing mainly at venues across California and two in Arizona. However, it wasn’t until August that they announced round two of the Kiss & Tell Tour, and this time, they’d be visiting even more states (YAY!). Round two of the Kiss & Tell Tour is significant because it marks a major milestone for the girls. Not only are they visiting new cities, but they’re also meeting OG Petals (the name of their fanbase), who couldn’t make it to their California shows, and new Petals.

It’s also no secret that The Two Lips are my favorite girl duo ever! They are just absolutely incredible and talented. So when the girls announced that they were coming to Chicago, I stopped whatever I was doing to save the date for pre-sale tickets because um HELLO?! IT’S THE TWO LIPS! This was also their first time ever coming to Chicago, and I really wanted to be a part of herstory.
I was originally going as just a fan girl, but then I thought to myself, “Hey, I take some pretty awesome photos, they’re really awesome singers, and more people need to know about them. I’m also a part of a really awesome organization called UIC Radio” so I applied for a press pass and BOOM, I got it. So girl c’mon! Let's talk about Two Lips performing at Lincoln Hall!
The Two Lips at Lincoln Hall:
The Two Lips performed in Chicago for the first time ever on November 3rd. They took over Lincoln Hall with their energy, melodies, lyrics, rhythms, and petals. It was cool to see Andrea and Jewlz draw in a huge Chicago crowd. It just goes to show that there’s a lot of fans waiting to see them. While I was in line, I saw two petals, Citlali Najera and Pamela Amaya-Regino dressed as Jewlz and Andrea from their “still love you (todavía)” cover art. I thought they looked really cool and I would like to share their outfits with you:

I also noticed that there were a lot of different fashion styles, but the two colors I kept seeing were pink and black. Some fans wore pink tops with black pants or accessories, while others wore those colors in different ways. This stood out to me because those colors reflect The Two Lips’ aesthetic. Andrea’s pastel pink hair contrasts with Jewlz’s black hair and darker outfits. Since their style combines bright and dark tones, it’s likely that fans were influenced by that visual theme when deciding what to wear. This shows how the band’s image extends into their fan community.
I already knew Jewlz and Andrea would be so much fun to watch and listen to because I had seen them perform live on TikTok several times back when they mainly covered songs together using their omnichord. I anticipated that their live performance would be both engaging and enjoyable. AND GUESS WHAT?! IT WAS. The Two Lips kicked off the show with "Play," one of their singles from their newest official EP, girl, c'mon! In my opinion, this was one of the best songs to open up with since this is Chicago's first time watching The Two Lips perform. Its energetic and upbeat rhythms gave the audience a boost of energy and excitement that made everyone dance. It perfectly set the mood for the rest of the show.
Their stage presence and chemistry are off the charts. This pair of best friends really know how to put on a show. They are so expressive with their music when performing, and they sounded incredible live. One of the fans standing next to me said, "I never want it to end," and girl, I felt the same way.

The Two Lips surprised the crowd with songs from their newest EP that hadn’t been released yet at the time. One of my favorites, they introduced from girl, c’mon! was “It’s Complicated”. It has a really fun, early-2000s pop sound that’s instantly catchy and nostalgic. I highly, highly recommend checking out their newest EP. Each track shows off their charm and how talented they are. Their vocals are so smooth and pleasing to the ear, and girl, c’mon! will definitely make you want to dance around your room.
Two of my favorite moments during their show were when they used their omnichord to cover “Sienna” by The Marias and also when they introduced us to the anniversary version of “still love you (todavía)" which was in Spanish and only included the omnichord. I honestly hope they release more songs in Spanish because hearing them sing “still love you (todavía)" in complete Spanish left me starstruck.
The Two Lips are truly an iconic duo, and I have no doubt they’ll keep doing amazing things. In less than a year, they’ve grown tremendously! Not just in their sound, but in their confidence and stage presence. It’s inspiring to see how far they’ve come, and it makes me even more excited to see where their music will take them next. May they continue to blossom.
