Who said you need to spend millions to look and feel amazing? As someone who loves doing my makeup (While keeping my wallet happy) I've learned how to have amazing makeup looks using affordable products. In this blog I will be sharing my go to tricks and tips using budget friendly products that will make you feel confident and camera ready without the overwhelming guilt.
Tips on Finding Affordable products
The real secret? Knowing where to shop, what to look for, and what cheap products are actually worth buying.
Shop drugstores during sales and use coupons
CVS, Walgreens, and Target all have relatively cheap makeup but using their apps can bring the prices down much farther. They often have buy one get one
free of 20% off deals that you can use.Â
Dupes are your best friend!
Looking for dupes of your favorite products can actually be really easy! Using Youtube and Tiktok as references, they will often be able to tell you about products that give similar effects as one that would be $40.
Buying multi-use products
Often times there are much cheaper products that advertises as multiuse, for instance the No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum Foundation ($9) this product not only counts as a foundation but also a serum to help
improve your skin while still wearing makeup (Which is usually an oxymoron)
My Approach to Budget Beauty
Every one of my products I will be mentioning has been tried and loved by none other than myself. No surprises, though; I'll include prices and where to find them.
Starting with a strong base
Primer: e.l.f Poreless Putty Primer
With 4.5 stars and a $10 price tag, it's a must-have. It smooths your skin for a flawless base.
Foundation: MayBelline Super Stay Up to 24hr Skin Tint
This is another lightweight, multi-use skin tint and foundation, like previously mentioned. This is another skin tint I recommend because of the blend-abilities of the foundation.
Concealer: MayBelline instant age rewind eraser.Â
Sitting at $10.99, this concealer brightens my under-eyes and helps my contour make a greater appearance.
Now, to facial definition
Couture & Blush: Baby got Bronze & Baby got Blush
This 4.9 star duo is a cream blush and bronze that makes applying much easier. Using the marker-like texture and a wet beauty blender effortlessly blends quickly in order to define your already beautiful facial features. Now, I am aware that bronzer and contour are not the same thing; however, using Baby got Bronze as a contour actually works just as well, if not better than powdered contour.
Eye Looks for Less
Eyeshadow Palette: TruNaked Eye Shadow Palette
Now, I recommend you search for a palette that is on the other side of the color wheel as your eyes; for example, blue eyes would go well with orange, copper, peach, gold, bronze, brown, and champagne. My eyes are brown, so I should be using blues, greens, and purples. However, that is too much of a pop, so I settle for a vibrant gold since I have brown skin. This eyeshadow I use contains the perfect colors for a good smokey eye. Pair it with a slightly wet makeup brush and it becomes like paint.
Mascara & Lashes: Lash Princess Curl Mascara & Kiss So Real Lashes
This is another thing that is up to personal preference, but with prices as low as $4.99 I had to get in on these deals. Lash Princess has been gaining popularity recently because of its effectiveness. I personally love how much it makes my lashes look long and voluminous. The Kiss So Real Lashes are also very dramatic, just the way I like. Sitting at $4.99, the voluminous lashes give a very alluring effect to your eyes. Pair this with my favorite Kiss lash glue, and voila, big, beautiful lashes!
Lips Don't Lie
Lipgloss/ Lip Plumper: What the Fake!
This lip gloss plumper combo is a smooth glitter gloss that I personally use in my lip combo! While having a long-lasting glossy lip look, it also stimulates your lips to become more plump.
Lipstick: Color Sensational Lipstick
At $7.49, this lipstick has been vital in my lip combo. I have been searching for the perfect lipstick for me for years now, and I finally settled on this one in shade 111 double shot cream. This, with What the Fake, gives way to the perfect glossy-looking dark lipstick.
