Jane Remover's ♡ EP

Arriving by surprise almost four months ago, Jane Remover’s newest EP  is one of my favorite releases of 2025, despite most of its tracks having already been released. Four of the EPs six tracks, Flash in the Pan, Dream Sequence, Magic I Want U, and How To Teleport, were released over the second half of 2024. The versions of the songs on the EP are edited a little bit, but the changes are minuscule and all sound satisfying and warranted. Coincidentally, the EPs two new songs, So What? and Music Baby, are my favorite tracks of the six.

Being honest for a second, there are very few things I enjoy hearing more in a song than a good Jersey Club beat. With its origins inspired by Baltimore Club’s fusion of house and hip-hop, Jersey Club is a genre with a fast BPM and hard kicks. It’s energetic, its fun, and there’s really nothing more exciting to dance to, for me. Hearing Music Baby, I was thrilled with Jane’s pop-y, groovier approach to the genre. Jane being a New Jersey native themself I’m sure has purchase on their command of the genre.

How To Teleport was the first Jane Remover song I ever heard. I was late to it, catching on for the first time in August of 2025. I’d somehow not been pulled in by the buzz that Revengeseekerz, Jane’s third full-length album, had generated when it came out in April, and I had been really kicking myself for it at the time. However, hearing the reggaeton influences on How To Teleport, especially with the original mix’s looping beat bringing in the noise just a tiny bit early than the version released on , I was hooked.

A song that this EP breathed new life into for me was Flash in the Pan. This song is the shortest on the EP, coming in at a little over three and a half minutes. That’s another thing that I really love about this project, and about Jane’s music in general, is that the songs are long. Music Baby is a five and a half minute song! The little, bite-sized, two-minute pop nothings that artists seem obligated to make now are getting grating for me. But, to get back to the song, I like Flash in the Pan because its a love song. Ahead of the release of , Jane put out a press release saying the album sounds like: “dancing with tears in your eyes feeling the music in your chest being in  love with your friends drunk in the backseat of an Uber windows down on  a summer night a feeling you can never recreate the summer that changed everything.” I feel like, despite the object of Flash in the Pan’s affections seemingly being one man, the song still captures this vibe that they were talking about perfectly. The guitar throughout the song sounds just melancholy enough for the listener to be able to pick up on Jane’s yearning before the lyrics ever start. Their falsetto on lyrics like, ‘I’m trashy for a bitch with no credentials’ only further the feeling.

All in all, I love this EP. It’s a no skip project for me. I’m still a very new Jane Remover fan, but there’s nothing I’ve heard so far that I haven’t loved. I'm really hoping to see them live (anywhere! I'm not picky!) this year, but that feels a little pipe dream-y to me right now. Either way, I’m very excited for whatever they’ll do next!
