Kim Petras Woo Ah!

You can say a lot of things about her but you can’t say she isn’t memorable

On May 20, the German singer and songwriter Kim Petras performed in Lincoln Hall during her Broken Tour opened by Stylist and DJ Mazurbate.

Before the show, I did some research on Kim since I didn’t know what to expect. I listened to a couple of her songs and read some articles about her and I was not expecting to find such an incredible story. Yet I thought that her music was not my style until I heard her live.

As I arrived at Lincoln Hall the place was already crowded. The doors of the hall were still closed but Lincoln Hall has a small restaurant on the outside and there were a lot of fans out there already. The majority of them bought the meet and greet ticket to meet with Kim and they got a cute signed fanny pack. There, I also met Alex Kay who I thought for a second was Kim Petras because they were actually dressed as Kim. It was cute.

The doors were supposed to open around 6:45 or 7:00 pm. By 8:00 pm, I was already desperate. I was not sure what was going on and I thought that the show was going to start at 6:30 pm. But anyway, a little past eight, DJ Mazurbate came onto the stage and took over. Everybody, including me, was jamming to the different genres of music. They played Tyga, Rihanna, Paramore, a bunch of songs that I don’t know, and even the Kim Possible theme song. It was fun though, and I got very good snaps for my story.

Soon after Mazurbate said bye and the Staff cleaned up we received Kim. The fans went crazy and they were all singing along. I was very close to the stage and I have to say that I was overwhelmed just by seeing her. Kim has a lot of energy and sexy moves. She made three outfit changes and she maintained the same energy as she was singing, jumping, and dancing (although she did take a couple of brief breaks to talk with the audience). She even shared a little of her story as she introduced her songs. Personally, my favorite songs of the night were “Do Me,” “I Don’t Want it At All,” and “Broken.” Her energy together with the lyrics stood out to me so much so that I had to add them to my playlist.

I really enjoyed her performance and I’m looking forward to seeing her again. She mentioned that she was grateful for the audience because the tickets sold out. She said, and I quote, “I always perform in small @$$ bars when I come to Chicago,” but Lincoln Hall has a capacity of 507 people and it was full so I guess it was a great experience for everyone.

Pues decir lo que quieras de ella pero no puedes decir que no es memorable

El 20 de mayo, la cantante y compositora Alemana Kim Petras actuó en el Lincoln Hall durante su Broken Tour. Abierto por el estilista y DJ Mazurbate.

Antes del show, hice una investigación sobre Kim ya que no sabía qué esperar. Escuché un par de sus canciones y leí algunos artículos sobre ella y no esperaba encontrar una historia tan increíble. Sin embargo, pensé que su música no era mi estilo hasta que la escuché en vivo.

Cuando llegué a Lincoln Hall, el lugar ya estaba lleno. Las puertas del pasillo aún estaban cerradas, pero Lincoln Hall tiene un pequeño restaurante en el exterior y ya había muchos fanáticos. La mayoría de ellos compraron el boleto para reunirse y saludarse con Kim y obtuvieron un lindo fanny pack firmado. Allí también conocí a Alex Kay, quien pensé por un segundo que era Kim Petras porque en realidad estaban vestidos como Kim.

Las puertas se abrieron alrededor de las 6:45 o las 7:00 en punto. A las 8:00 pm yo ya estaba desesperada. No estaba segura de lo que estaba pasando y pensé que el espectáculo iba a comenzar a las 6:30. Pero poco más tarde de las ocho DJ Mazurbate entró en el escenario y se hizo cargo. Todos, incluyéndome a mí, estabamos disfrutando de los diferentes géneros de música. Tocaron Tyga, Rihanna, Paramore, un montón de canciones que no conozco e incluso el tema de Kim Posible. Pero lo disfrute y obtuve muy buenas fotos para mi historia de Snapchat.

Poco después de que Mazurbate dijo adiós y el personal limpió, recibimos a Kim. Los fanáticos se volvieron locos y todos cantaban juntos. Yo estaba muy cerca del escenario y tengo que decir que me cansé solo de verla. Kim tiene mucha energía y movimientos sensuales. Hizo tres cambios de ropa y mantuvo la misma energía mientras cantaba, saltaba y bailaba. Tomó un par de breves descansos para hablar con el público. Ella compartió un poco de su historia y presentó sus canciones. Personalmente, mis canciones favoritas de la noche fueron Do Me, I Don’t Want At All y Broken. Su energía, junto con las letras, me gustaron tanto que tuve que agregarlas a mi lista de reproducción musical.

Realmente disfruté su actuación y espero volver a verla. Ella mencionó que estaba agradecida por la audiencia porque las entradas se agotaron. Ella mencionó y cito “Siempre actúo en pequeños bares cuando vengo a Chicago”, pero Lincoln Hall tiene una capacidad de 507 personas y estaba lleno, así que creo que fue una gran experiencia para todos.
