Hello beautiful people! As the weather is getting colder and I have broken out my long sleeves, I’m thinking two things. One, how is October almost over already? I feel like I blinked and it's already the end of October. Two, why does Disney Channel suck now?

I am thinking about how I would be so excited as a kid to watch Monstober marathons on Disney Channel, especially when I would get home from school. Besides Monstober on Disney, Disney Channel just had some amazing shows. There is no other feeling like waiting all week for the next episode to come out, and if you're like me, you even record it just in case you miss it. It’s the anticipation and excitement boiling over all week, and you are so engrossed in the show that you actually get upset when the commercials come on.

I was obsessed with Wizards of Waverly Place, shout out Harper, I love you girl. Also, the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Sonny with a Chance, Shake It Up, Good Luck Charlie, and I won't even talk about the movies.  I remember thinking this was top entertainment, and I wasn't wrong in some regard, but do you know what’s not top entertainment? The current Disney shows and movies, what are they?

The acting is bad, but it was kind of bad in older shows, too. There was some type of shift that happened that they could get back to, it’s a decline of originality. It’s the overuse of the same story, there's no creativity anymore. As well as the writing quality is horrible compared to the shows I used to watch, it's like, are they even trying? Even the sets just look cheap and not special. If I don't want to live in the set they're showing in the show, then it’s probably not a good set, just saying.

It could be because it’s mainly profit-driven, and no one really watches cable anymore, and Disney is putting its time and money into other places. Thank God our old movies and TV shows are all on streaming services to watch, the nostalgia is unmatched, and they never get old. I’ll be re-watching Twitches and Halloweentown as a form of a diy monstober. I hope everyone stays warm this week and finds comfort in some childhood Halloween movies!
