Black Untitled is a podcast that airs every Thursday from 4 pm to 5 pm central time and the main purpose is to build Black self-confidence. At first, I was doing this for everyone: my friends, family, strangers, and myself, thinking about how it can help shape people. As the semester goes on, I constantly find myself thinking about how I can reach out to a wide audience and what others would be interested in talking about. I even stress about the topics I go over and if it’s anything anyone wants to hear.
The first month of doing this show has been amazing and I look forward to what is to come for my show. As I continue, I want to stop worrying about what others want to hear and start thinking about how I’m going to learn more about Black communities and what’s happening in the world. I also realized that I want to go out and talk to people about their experiences and find a way to talk about it on my show but I have a hard time doing so.
I want this show to help shape me into becoming a more confident Black female in a world where it’s hard to do so. I want my show to let others know that there is someone else who is struggling with their image and looking for ways to lose their insecurities just like them. I don’t want my show to be put into a box with only limited things to talk about. My show was created to reach Black people far and wide and urge them to come together knowing that, although we are all different, we are one.
