Peso Pluma is, without a doubt, one of the biggest artists of recent times. However, something to know about Peso Pluma is that he blew up so quickly after he dropped his first song “Ella Baila Sola”. For many artists, this is a difficult accomplishment because the quick blow-up gets hard to handle for people who have no prior experience, but Peso Pluma had little to no difficulty adjusting to this accomplishment. But we can definitely see improvements from Peso Pluma’s concert to his most recent concert, which is exactly what we will dive into right now!
First, we will dive into Peso Pluma’s first concert. The first time that I went to a Peso Pluma concert was his first time touring, and he had a stop at Tinley Park. Peso Pluma had an incredible performance with a memorable entrance and energetic performance. However, as a first time performer you could tell he might’ve had some moments where he was either lost, or was repeating a dance move, again, there wasn’t much of an issue with that as he made sure to exert so much energy into his performance. Peso Pluma’s tour was for his first album, so as expected, the songs he played were all from his first album, on top of some collaboration songs and his blow-up song. Peso Pluma had a great setlist, but the one criticism I have for it would be the order. I was a big fan of Peso Pluma playing his more famous and popular songs towards the end, however, he also brought out a special guest with Jasiel Nunez who he has collabed with before but he also had Jasiel play some of his songs. The issue with this was that this was done early on in the concert, within the first 10 minutes of the concert, and it did not allow the audience to get hyped enough. Overall, the concert was a solid experience and made me look forward to seeing him again.
Now, for Peso Pluma’s second concert, and may I start it off by saying, what an experience. Peso Pluma’s second concert shows that the artist is continuously improving his performing skills and is gaining experience. I personally was not super excited about this concert at first because I was not entirely sold on his second album, which the tour was based on. As time was getting closer to the concert date, I started seeing how Peso Pluma was bringing some insane guests and I was quickly looking forward to the concert. The concert taking place in the United Center made for such an iconic entrance where Peso Pluma started making his way from the backstage to the main performance area while playing the Chicago Bulls’ entrance song as his entrance song. Peso Pluma played a mixture of his second album's songs as well as the most iconic songs from his first album. The setlist was great as he started with a mixture of both to hype everyone up, had Jasiel Nunez as his first guest come out towards the end of that first section and it was an awesome performance, then Peso Pluma went onto his reggaeton sector where everyone was still vibing and enjoying the reggaeton set. After the reggaeton Peso Pluma brought more guests, the first one being Polo G, which took everyone by surprise, and as one of my favorite rappers, it was a very much more enjoyable surprise for me. Afterward, Rich the Kid came out, and Dareyes de la Sierra came to finalize the guests, which was the best way to close it for me as Dareyes de la Sierra is one of the artists I grew up listening to and was able to assimilate to the Mexican music of today. Overall, Peso Pluma’s stage presence improved massively, and everything seemed purposeful and made me satisfied yet excited to see more.
