In my last post about Ab-Soul I mentioned how he will be performing at Soundset this summer in Minnesota. In a perfect world you all would know the joys and wonders of Soundset and would attend it yearly. However, we do not live in a perfect world because college is making us broke and this winter got up to -32 degrees. So here is a little break down of what Soundset is and why you should buy your tickets immediately after reading this post. Soundset is a hip hop music festival that takes place in Shakopee, Minnesota (weird location, I know). It features big names in hip hop as well as some lesser known, but still hard hitting, ones. It is a one day event, that this year takes places on May 25th.
But Courtney Canine, why should I bother going to Soundset? So glad you asked. This years top performers are: Atmosphere, Wiz Khalifa, Chance the Rapper, 2 Chainz, and Nas. In total 38 artist will be performing and Sway from MTV will be hosting. So lets take a step back and look at what we have in our hands. An all day music festival with some of the best hip hop artists out there, some cool Minnesota scenery, sick merchandise you can buy at an affordable price, and not to mention you’ll be surrounded by people who live and die for these artist and their music just like you. Worried about the logistics of it all? Don’t be! Shapokee is only about a 6 hour 45 min drive from Chicago, (don’t be a baby you can do it), and seeing how it is only 1 day you don’t have to worry about booking and paying for a hotel round. Most importantly general admissions is only $55 which is a steal compared to some other music festivals. Basically what I’m trying to say is, round up 4 of your friends, have them each pitch in $20 for gas and get ready to have thee hip hop experience of your life in Minnesota.
