On Thursday, October 2nd, sombr performed at Radius Chicago with opener Devon Gabriella. This was one of my most anticipated concerts since the summer! I have been listening to his music since May of this year, and I was waiting for this moment! It was such a great concert and to see sombr perform live, his vocals are amazing, and he is a funny performer.
The opener, Devon Gabriela, was wonderful, and her voice was amazing. I hadn't really heard of her before she was announced as the opener for sombr. She did an amazing job of engaging the crowd and interacting with them throughout her performance. Her outfit was also gorgeous and the whole crowd was talking about it!
Finally, Finn Wolfhard came on stage... (jk). sombr's opening song was i wish i knew how to quit you. His set was a late-night show set, which I thought was very cool cause there was a host talking and sombr sat on the set to interact and talk a couple of times as well!

Songs that were a highlight for me included Caroline. I wasn't sure if he would play that one, but it was so good that it almost made me cry...almost.
Another favorite was 12 to 12. He ended the set with that song, and the stage looked beautiful with the disco ball reflecting light everywhere. It got the whole crowd hyped up, and my friends and I were dancing and screaming along!
When Sombr sang in your arms, it was funny because he switched up the lyrics midway, having forgotten them, so he made a sad song funny and that made me giggle lol. Even though I have only heard that song once before the concert, it grew on me.
Of course, I loved back to friends, The whole crowd was screaming their lungs out to that song, it was definitely a moment where everyone was united.
He also did his famous segment, where he called a few of his fans' exes and it was so funny that one of the moments went viral. I had such an amazing and fun experience! I love being on the floor at concerts, so I was thrilled that this venue was a floor-only venue. sombr really exploded in popularity over the summer, which led him to upgrade to a larger venue in Chicago, increasing from a 1,500 capacity to a 5,000 capacity for a sold-out show. This 20-year-old truly knows what he’s doing! After the concert, he even sang outside the venue. Although he gained fame on TikTok, his songs are definitely worth listening to. You can tell he’s a talented artist when you hear him hit all the notes live.
