Songs on Repeat

My music taste is as unpredictable as the Chicago weather. I listen to tons of different artists and genres, to the point that even my Spotify Wrapped is confused at the end of every year. I just love variety, like discovering new sounds and revisiting old favorites. Prepare to get whiplash when I'm on aux, because I'm whimsy and free!

I might be biased, but I think my recent repeats are super fun and fit the awkward, spring humidity perfectly (though I have to admit, I hate this weather). I wanted to highlight some of my recent repeats in case anyone's looking for new music or just curious!

ICE (VVS) by P1Harmony

Dare I say the best K-Pop song so far this year? I love this new sound for P1Harmony, and this release really stands out from their other releases. Overall this style has been super popular in the K-Pop industry lately, like with Knife by ENHYPEN and FaSHioN by Cortis. I'm looking forward to more similar songs from my favorite groups in the future!

Island by the Sun by Weezer

Weezer is playing in Chicago this fall and I've asked almost everyone I know if they'd go with me, even my own mother. I've been into their music since high school, but lately this weather has me breaking out my super old, junior year playlists. I love listening to this song, along with their other hits Go Away and I Just Threw Out The Love of My Life, on the way to school.

FaceTime by LNGSHOT

I'm not super familiar with LNGSHOT, but this song is easily one my favorites! Their music has a really fun, groovy sound, and FaceTime is literally so addicting it'll probably be my most played song this year.

In a Lake by Mitski

Mitski's new album is so good that I can't listen to it for too long or I'll get teary eyed. My favorite is definitely the first track, In a Lake, because it's so unique yet also nostalgic. I especially love the lyrics, which are so well thought out that the entire song is honestly a poem. This song's always on repeat when I'm taking long walks and overthinking my life.

They Don't Know About Us by One Direction

Oh my gosh, I hadn't heard this song in years and when it came up on TikTok last week it threw me for a loop. I was back in 2012 shopping at Justice and Claire's, making rainbow loom bracelets in my pink bedroom. One Direction is so summer coded, and I can't wait to bring their music back these next few months!
