HALLOWEEN TOPS MOVIES TO SEE
As we already know, we are in the fall season! The crunchy leaves under our shoes, the cold weather tickling under our noses to let us know winter is around the corner. Something I always loved about fall is everybody having the feeling of watching a scary movie to hype up Halloween. I've always been a little geek with horror movies since I was a wee teen. I got into a phase to watch any type of horror movie someone recommended to me. Even if it's a classic, comedy, or a gore movie, I'll still watch it. But for this rank I'm going to give you my favorite ones that are entertaining or just give me goosebumps,
Movies:
Scream(1996)
One of my favorites of all time since Forever is one of the classics that I keep going back to when its spooky season has suspense, attractive characters, and the most important part, blood. The main things in a scary movie. I really like this movie because of the plot. It just leads to twists and turns, and the ending isn't what you expected if you haven't watched it yet, which I totally recommend. It's so cliche, but that's how directors get you entertained while eating some buttered popcorn with a nice refreshing drink.Â

2. Audition(1990)
Now, this Japanese movie made me so uncomfortable, but in a good way. There are some scenes that make my skin crawl and my head turn because I can't make myself look at the screen; I physically force myself to look because the director makes these scenes cringe from how real they look. I won't give too much away, but it does include needles, and as a person who despises needles that scene really made me want to leave that movie alone. If you're into psychologically uncomfortable movies, then I totally recommend this one.
3. A Nightmare on Elm Street(1984)
Another of my favorite classics; it's so unique but also very similar to other slasher movies, but this one has very unique deaths. Maybe because the villain is a dream demon, so he can do whatever he wants to people in their dreams. But the way they do it, mwah, is very cool. I always wondered how they came up with this. And, let's not forget there's so much lore behind this to the villains or how the parents are all connected to their children from dying if you keep watching the rest of the Elm Street films.Â
4. The Menu(2022)
The menu is about a chef killing rich people because they don't have taste in food. They only eat how much it costs, but someone unexpectedly changes his plans. I really like this movie because, well, you know it involves food, but funny enough, this movie doesn't make the food look appealing. It's a very rich feeling, like each food item that the chef brings out has a darker meaning than what he is telling the audience, plus the customers. Plus, the cinematography is very pretty, and the actors make the scenes more tense. It isn't too scary, but it is very suspenseful.Â
5 Possum(2018)
Now, this movie, I don't even know where to start. It's so unsettling and confusing to this day, I still don't get what the plot is, but I enjoy watching it because the cinematography is eerie but aesthetically pleasing to look at. The only thing that gives me the creeps is the puppet, its head shaped like a human, its gaping emotionless eyes staring, and its body shaped like a spider crawling towards you. Personally, I don't want that thing near me. It's so creepy but the way they portray the puppet as a symbol of a deeper meaning that you just have to really analyze and understand for the movie to make sense.
