Thai Music: Getsunova

Asian Music Variety features this week artist is the Getsunova.

Before dive in to more details about the band, let’s listen to their latest single, อยู่ตรงนี้ นานกว่านี้ (Right Here a Little Longer).

This song is about a guy who is not ready to let go of his lover. He knows that she doesn’t love him anymore. He asks her to stay a little bit longer; he asks her to wait until he is ready to say goodbye. He knows that he can’t keep her for long; he begs her to let their love to last a little longer.

Can we stay right here for a little longer? Even though it’s our final moment Please stay right here beside me for another day Keep the goodbye you’re ready to use Because right now I’m not ready to let you go

Do you like their song?

Now let’s learn more about the band.

Prakarn Raiva, Panoth Khunprasert, Natee Osathanugrah, Komkadeach Sangwatanaroj

Getsunova is a four-member “experimental pop” band based in Bangkok, Thailand. The band consists of Prakarn Raiva (lead vocalist), Panoth Khumprasert (guitarist and synthesizer), Natee Osathanugrah (guitarist), and Komkadeach Sangwatanaroj (drummer).

Their single ไกลแค่ไหนคือใกล้ (How far is near?) released in 2012 created a huge sensation in Thailand. The group becomes well-known throughout the country. Because of this song, they gather many fans and many awards.

Here is that song, ไกลแค่ไหนคือใกล้ [Klai Ke Nai]

The song is about unrequited love.  He waits for her to return his love back. He wants to know when she can love him back. He is not giving up his love for her. He’s just tired of not knowing when his love is returned.

I’m not giving up, just weary that’s all my love for you stays the same; it never changes but it’d be nice if you let me know what’s in your heart, the reasons you keep hiding

Here is the collaboration of ไกลแค่ไหนคือใกล้ with other artist of GMM-Grammy. I personally really love this version.
