thoughts on spring break

When i was little I used to think everyone had the same lives

I thought everyone had recess at the same time as me

I thought my parents also got a snack break at their work

And that everyone had the same spring break as me

My little brother asked my aunt the other day 

“When is your spring break shay?” to which she said,

“I don’t have a spring break buddy” 

Then he said, "Why?"

She said "Adults don't get spring breaks"

I remember when i used to think that too 

Why don't adults have a spring break?

If anything adults might need it more than children or college students

Now i'm older and this year will be my last spring break 

Maybe I'll get a really cool job that gives spring breaks to all their employees

That would be pretty cool

I love how my little brother is still so naive to the world 

Just how I was 

Maybe I still am a little

Its sweet, things are simple for him 

Hes still a kid- even though he would sigh at me and tell me he’s a teenager
