As a communication major, you know I am watching the Super Bowl for the commercials and the halftime performance!! Since I wrote about Bad Bunny performing, I just have to say that it was such a good halftime performance that Bad Bunny broke the record for most-watched NFL halftime show. But getting into the commercials.
The commercials this year were not the best. But here are the ones I actually liked.
Poppi Commercial
Charli XCX and Rachel Sennott for Poppi were so iconic! So camp and so mainstream that Poppi might be back over Olipop. It was so on brand to have the two of them, especially after I love L.A. This is Poppi's third year doing a Super Bowl commercial. What they did differently this time was lean into internet culture.

Pokémon Commercial
This has to be my favorite because all my favorite people were in this commercial: Charles Leclerc, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Lady Gaga, Trevor Noah, and more!! It was such a cute commercial to honor Pokémon's 30th anniversary. I love the idea of celebrities sharing their Pokémon picks and explaining why they love them.

Pepsi Commercial
This was such a crazy ad for Pepsi to steal Cola's most iconic polar bear, which is technically their mascot. Basically, showing that Pepsi tastes better than Coca-Cola. The song choice was also funny; it was "I Want to Break Free" by Queen, symbolizing that the bear wants to be with Pepsi now. Having the two bears at the end recreate the Coldplay meme was a great media move.

Budweiser Commercial
Budweiser is celebrating its 150th anniversary and the United States' upcoming birthday. The commercial features Budweiser horses and a bald eagle symbolizing the U.S. The ad builds on Budweiser's long tradition of iconic Super Bowl commercials using patriotic visuals, emotional storytelling, and animal appeal to make its point.

Xfinity Commercial
The commercial was good because it used nostalgia in a lighthearted, relatable way. The return of the original Jurassic Park characters grabbed attention right away, giving the commercial a sense of excitement and nostalgia. The clever notion that Xfinity's dependable internet might have helped maintain the park's safety clearly and effectively communicated the message.

Pringles Commercial
This commercial was silly because its concept, starring Sabrina Carpenter, is that she's sick of dating and has decided to literally build a man out of Pringles chips. The image of a "chip man," the little gags, and the ending in which he is eaten all discreetly reference the Pringles brand.
