Who Are You Listening To At The Moment?
I believe music will be a way to connect with the people we surround ourselves with for the rest of eternity. So that begs the question, who are you listening to at the moment? Last week I picked albums for the fall months, so let's do artists this week!

Oscar Lindsey is an indie folk artist from Nashville. I was introduced to Lindsey a little over 1/2 a year ago, with Lindsey's most recent album "Glitter." I really love how "Glitter" progresses through its songs, even though it's short, coming in just under 30 minutes. Recently, I've been listening to Oscar Lindsey's third studio album, "Rocky Mountain Toast." Both "Bottle Rocket" and "Summer" have made their way onto my autumn playlist. I just can't get enough of this guitar sound, which is why I think I keep returning to Oscar Lindsey at the moment. Lindsey is also preparing for their fifth studio album, "Sunshine," which comes out on October 16th. You can preview some songs from the album, and they've already gained some attention.
Unfortunately, I can't spend all fall wallowing in sad folk guitar music. However, I can listen to Emma Ogier! Emma Ogier was recently introduced to me via Dominic Fike, posting a YouTube video titled "This is Emma Ogier," where she performed her song "Baby Don't Hurt Me" at one of his shows on the comedy, tragedy, parody tour. A lot of fans see this as Dominic Fike's way of passing it on after BROCKHAMPTON posted a similar video 7 years ago for Fike. Emma Ogier has released no full-length albums at the moment, but has been releasing music since 2023. "Baby Don't Hurt Me" is my favorite song of hers, and I'm not afraid to say it. "Baby Don't Hurt Me" focuses heavily on its lyricism, which definitely isn't my usual type of listen, but there's something she does so right. Emma Ogier's newest single, "Keep You," was released on September 9th. Emma Ogier is such a whimsical listen; definitely making paper chains while listening to her.

Moving back to our regularly scheduled agenda, I am currently spamming going up state. In my research, it was so hard to find any information at all about going up state, but I needed to share this artist. going up state has 3 EPs and a handful of singles, all of which I love. "Loft Sessions," released in 2025, is my favorite EP and has my 2 favorite songs of theirs, "Up but You're Down" and "Broken Rib." Both tracks definitely focus on a whammy guitar tone, which I adore. going up state released 2 new singles on September 5th, "Aim High" and "Every Moment." Both songs are bangers, and I recommend you go support them anywhere you can find them.
I'm always looking for new artists to deep dive into, no matter the genre! Music connects us in the best ways possible. Go see live music and listen to local music. Live, laugh, love, music.
