Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def and Jallal – Metro Chicago

Kickin off the month of May with an epic bang… Yasiin Bey blows in to the Windy City with a sold out show, and with good reason!! Hearing about him being back in the states AND going on tour… AND the tour making a stop at the Metro Chicago?!? Any true Hip Hop head would have, and should have, made it their business not to miss this EPIC show!!

The show’s date was set on the eve of the Mayweather fight night. Yasiin Bey steps out on to the stage, sportin a TMT fitted cap… letting it be known, IT’S THE MONEY TEAM!! As he walks across the stage, throwing rose petals all around and at his feet… guess he wanted to set the mood! He goes on to perform classics such as Umi say, MathematicsMs. Fat Booty, Auditorium, and a host of others, all sounding amazing live!!! It was awesome seeing him back, exactly where all us fans wanna see him… LIVE N’ DIRECT AND N’ FULL EFFECT ON STAGE!!

As he continued to rock the crowd, I could pick up on the fact that his time away, was not at all wasted… and has DEF been utilized. He may have been performing classics we know and love. But you could tell, this is a different man, a different artist we have before our eyes. Yasiin has grown! It’s safe to say, we all look forward to seeing the problems his album is going to cause once it drops!!! Problems, problems, PROBLEMS!!!

Check the exclusive interview Yasiin did with Beats By Dre BEATS HQ.

While on tour, Yasiin has a few friends along for the ride. He has an artist under his wing by the name Jallal. I have been following his music for a while now… since he dropped his album Unwilling Fortay. And hearing he is protégé to Yasiin Bey is DOPE!! He spits conscious, but he also raps about feel good moments and just livin life… giving you a bit of a balance. He flows over beats ranging from classic old skool Hip Hop, to new age EDM fusion, and everything in between. I got the chance to speak with him and catch up on the latest. I’m excited for Jallal and look forward to seeing the dope work to develop from this union. Be sure to stay posted for more updates. Check out the interview below.
