All of love’s roads lead back to vulnerability

Surrender
To love is to suffer
to endure
most of us would do anything for love
to be loved
even if love is a grave.
Consume me until I am nothing but you
then lick my wounds with the most tender affection
nobody has ever desired me so passionately.
Do with me what you will
I am yours
to nurture
or break.
What is love
if not surrender?
Reverence
I memorize the scripture of your skin with my lips
refute me always in the darkness of your absence
sacramental is my calling out for you
haunted by your spirit
your power unyielding and infinite.
Immolation of myself in your tests of faith
embers of hope extinguished
void of grace
Fool, am I, in my worship?
Blind, have I, become to your control?
Yearn, I do, for your beckoning
maker of my mind's creation
my thoughts irreverent, secular
for the flesh is better.
Fill the hallowed hole in my existence
my purity is yours and yours alone
lamb to your knife
I get down on my knees
and start my benediction
in hopes that you take me to the promised land.
Ideal Confessor
I could lay by your side forever
no words, no movement
just pure, unadulterated bliss
cradled in the comfort of your presence
I don't know what I did to deserve such peace.
Together, we can simply exist
and that is enough.
Take me just as I am
dirty, rotten, used
and I will take you just the same.
We laugh in the face of our imperfections
as we barrel towards the sun.
