I am Nicolas from Bolivia and I have big dreams.
Ever since I was a kid I would watch my family lead their own companies, transforming the way we lived and shaping my values.
For some reason as a kid I kept on thinking that the life I was living was going to be my bare minimum; that I would do more to have more.
I still believe that, a part of me believes that. Nonetheless, as I grow older I realize that many of my goals aren't working out.
I now realize that dreaming was easy, but now making that happen is extremely hard. Even harder without them, even harder being miles away from them.
So, the first step I took to make this dream become a reality, was to grow my network. I began by going to networking events and those related to my area of study.
Slowly but surely I realized the power that connecting with these people had, and I knew I had to do something to make it better. To make it more significant.
Which is why I decided to start a podcast, not only for them to have an audience to speak to, but also for me to have a longer conversation, and a stronger bond.
The first few episodes of my podcast was an overview of people with successful careers, people who I looked up to, but not those who I admired.
A few months forward I wanted to give this podcasting journey another shot, I wanted to make it better this time, refined guests, and the best CEO's in Chicago. Little did I know that this wasn't going to be simple.
I realized that because I had never done this before, it was going to be rare for me to feature the best CEO's in Chicago, nonetheless I knew I couldn't give up.
The guests I've had up until now are not only people I wanted to learn more from, but also people who will help me get enough visibility and credibility to reach to best business leaders in Chicago into a conversation with me.
When I was told I had to do a blog about my podcast I wasn't very sure what that entailed. But I think it is important to share my story and my purpose, to those helping me reach it. So, thank you UIC Radio for making my dreams come true.
