Concert Review: ARMNHMR

Last Friday, me and my friends went to the ARMNHMR concert/rave at the Salt Shed. I paid about $45 for my ticket, and honestly, it was VERY worth it. There were 4 openers, the show starting at 7pm, and the main act not going on until 10:30. Unfortunately, we didn't get to the concert until after 8, so we missed the entire first opener and the first half of the second opener, Paper Skies. His set (or what I was able to see of it) was very good, mostly mixing color bass and melodic riddim, with a few wider-known EDM songs thrown into the mix. After Paper Skies was Tisoki, and while this set was happening, more and more of the crowd started to trickle in. When me and my friends first got there, not even half the venue was full, and it was mostly older people in the crowd. Tisoki's

set mostly consisted of harder dubstep, as that's the main genre he produces, incorporating flips of more popular EDM songs like "dashstar", which definitely shook the crowd. After Tisoki's set, the final opener, Habstrakt, came on. Habstrakt's set was a lot different compared to the other openers, there was still some dubstep in the mix, but it was mainly more bass house, less handbanger-y, and groovier. This set got the crowd moving, and by this point, the entire floor of the venue was filled up. Habstrakt was on for about an hour, and then after that, it was time for the main act, ARMNHMR. Their intro was insane, with lots of lasers and a huge buildup leading to the first drop, instantly shaking the crowd. Their set was also so much louder than the openers, it made my ears ring for the rest of the night. Mostly dubstep was being played, with some other popular EDM songs thrown into the mix just to get the crowd moving a little more. At the end, they played a drum n' bass remix of the K-Pop Demon Hunters song "Free", which immediately lit up the entire venue. Also, they included a visualizer with Valorant clips which I thought was very funny. Overall, this was such an amazing and fun concert/rave experience, and I strongly encourage everyone to go to a rave at least once, even if you don't really care for EDM, it's genuinely so much fun.
