✰Fall Media You NEED TO Consume !!!✰

༄ As the leaves fall, and breezes fill the air, I've noticed my mood changes as
well, and I tend to gravitate towards a specific vibe of media consumption. I will say that as a lover of horror, the macabre, and all things scary and spooky, my media list is full of frights, fun, and all things fall. Being the big horror fan I am, I have to warn that there are a good amount of super scary movies that you should 100% watch on the list. I will also say, having quite an odd life, I tend to gravitate towards all things surreal and otherworldly, so a good portion of media on this list will be in that category. Surrealism is also my middle name (not really), and I love nothing more than my weird, confusing, surreal life and the media that I heavily relate to. As I am D1 media re-consumer, most of the things listed are things I have watched/read/listened to more times than clinically recommended, so that's how you know the choices are sure to pull you in and never let go.
༄ Fall is also known as "cuffing season"! Which uh, yea... does not impact the media I consume because unfortunately the only man that loves me is my cat. Depressing and quite unnecessary, so I could not tell you why I've decided to include it, however, it felt right... I think. I fear I may have gotten sidetracked, but back to the topic at hand. If anyone knows what to listen to, read, and watch during fall, it would be me. So let's get into my favorite fall media that pairs quite well with some masala chai and an apple cider donut... would really love an apple cider donut right now... very badly... anyone have a good recipe?

༄ Now let's get into the top of the tops of the lists! I have selected my personal favorite from each category to share with you.
❤︎ MY FAVORITE FALL BOOK: House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski ❤︎
This book is chaos wrapped in a labyrinth, and I love every single confusing, mind-bending second of it. The way it plays with form, footnotes, and the physical layout of the pages makes reading it feel like a psychological horror experience in itself. I love this book specifically because you notice something new after each read. It’s dark, unsettling, and just strange enough that it perfectly matches the vibe of long, chilly autumn nights spent wrapped in blankets, questioning reality. Plus, I will never get over how it crawls under your skin and stays there.
❤︎ MY FAVORITE FALL MOVIE: Dawn Breaks Behind The Eyes (2021) ❤︎
This German indie movie is pure, haunting surrealism, genuinely one of the most surreal movies I have ever seen. Not even joking, there was a point that made me get up and stand in awe as my brain tried to process what just happened. The visuals, the mood, the creeping sense of dread, it’s like someone bottled the eerie melancholy of fall and poured it straight onto the screen. The plot is beautiful yet intense, and it’s slow, beautiful, and terrifying all at once, which is basically exactly the kind of media I crave during this season. It’s the kind of movie that makes you want to stare at the shadows in your room and wonder if they’re alive.
❤︎ MY FAVORITE FALL/ALL TIME SONG: Moon Girl by Ha Vay ❤︎
This song is me, not to joke, but if you ever wanted to know what song I would be, this would be EXACTLY IT. Every note, every beat, every ethereal vocal feels like it was written to describe exactly who I am. It’s gorgeous, dreamy, and magical, which is the perfect song for wandering through autumn streets or staring out the window at falling leaves while drinking something warm. Listening to it feels like looking in a mirror that’s both beautiful and unsettling, and I could honestly play it on repeat for hours without ever getting tired of it.

༄ Funny thing is, I have about 20 more recommendations for all of you, however, being the benevolent being I am, I decided to keep the lists rather short. With that in mind, please check out the media I have put on this blog, as I'm sure that if you love fall, you will love my personal sweater weather consumption list :) !!! Also slight shameless plug but follow my insta @marzbarzradio on Instagrammm. Okay, swag, have an amazing rest of the fall season before we are cursed with the Chicago winter season. Also, photo creds to me :P.
