The Foo Fighters will be releasing their 8th studio album tilted, Sonic Highways on November 10th. After the release of Wasting Light the band had initially announced a breakup but in 2013 they announced that they were going to be working on their 8th studio album.
After the success of Dave Grohl’s Sound City documentary, which was about the history of Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, he expressed his interest in doing something similar for their upcoming album. Dave Grohl wanted to tell the story of Sonic Highways. This album consists of 8 songs and each song was recorded in a different studio. The 8 different studios are located in Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington D.C. and New York.
This TV documentary series will air on HBO. It will be an 8-episode documentary. The episodes will highlight the 8 different legendary studios they traveled to to record their album. The series will debut October 17, 2014.
