My Fall/Winter Obsessions

Happy Wednesday everybody and happy November! November-Janurary is my favorite time of year. I love watching the leaves fall from trees, and as it gets colder I LOVE to watch the snow fall. This is the time of year where I feel the most like myself, and it makes me feel like a little kid all over again. In honor of the best time of the year being upon us, I wanted to write about some of my "must haves" or things that I love during this season.
Bundling Up
As the weather starts to get colder, bundling up is kind of a necessity, especially because we are in Chicago. My go to cold weather essentials are my black puffer jacket, my pink scarf, and if it's really cold I have leopard print earmuffs to cover my ears. As a kid, there were always people who never wore a jacket because it "wasn't cool." I never understood this because I think if you wear a cute jacket and style it right it's better than catching hypothermia but I guess that's just me. One of the reasons why I love the cold weather is because you get to layer clothing, and layered clothing is my favorite type of fashion.
Movies
I'm an avid romantic comedy lover so I watch them year round, but I always rewatch my favorite romance movies in November-Janurary. To me, romance movies hit when you watch them during the holiday season, especially Christmas themed romance movies. I also save Harry Potter movies so I can watch them during the holiday season as well. It is so relaxing to bundle up with a warm drink and watch some of your favorite movies.
Putting Up the Christmas Tree
I know everyone has their own opinions on when you should start to celebrate Christmas, but I'm one of those people who can celebrate Christmas all year round. I LOVE Christmas, and one of the things that I love so much about it is seeing how people decorate their Christmas trees. In my family, we have our Christmas tree up by Thanksgiving, and don't take it down until mid Janurary. In addition, I love seeing Christmas lights and decorations all over the place as you drive around. I think it's perfect, and I also think November is not too early to get into the holiday spirit.
Reading
Fall-Winter is the perfect weather to pick up a good book and read. The atmosphere is so cozy, and you can curl up somehwhere warm with a hot drink while watching the leaves fall. I do a lot of reading on holiday breaks because I have more time to myself. Personally, I think of reading as more of a Fall/Winter activity rather than a summer one.
I'm sure that a lot of people have certain things that they value during this time of year, some may be traditions, or just casual things that you love. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving break and then Christmas break after that! I hope that as the leaves start to fall everyone stays warm, and makes the most of the best time of the year. Bye for now!
