My Nominations for Pope

I had started writing a different blog for this week but got a last minute idea that I could not ignore, because of Pope Francis. Rest in peace to a legend. I found it admirable that he was willing to stand for everyone’s rights, even if other members of his religion didn’t always agree with it. My condolences to all affected by his passing. However, when one reign ends, another must begin. During the process of the conclave, all cardinals must agree on one person to take this substantial role. Once a decision is made, white smoke will come out of the chimney! If we are lucky, one of my nominations will be elected as the next pope.

Stanley Tucci: Not only does Stanley Tucci look like he belongs to the cloth, but he is also Italian. If he became pope, he would be closer to his family. More importantly, since he would be living in Rome, he could film another season of Searching for Italy. I love watching that man eat and talk about food.

Joe Biden: We need someone who is in his prime, yet has leadership experience. Someone we can count on for many years to come. And this guy fits that description perfectly!

The Priest from Fleabag: This seems pretty self-explanatory. He has experience, and though he gave into temptation, he repented and ultimately chose God. The Vatican needs a man who stands by his word. Plus, I would love to see him praying on his knees.

Hélène Cixous: This woman has changed my life forever. Her philosophical implications on romantic love are basically my religion. Read “Love of the Wolf” and listen to my blogger podcast about it (coming soon, yippee!).

Kendrick Lamar: While Kendrick Lamar is somewhat of an unconventional pick, I think he would be good for the job. He is not afraid to put potential predators, like Drake, in their place. Given the history of the Catholic Church, we know he may be needed in this sort of environment...

Good luck to whoever is elected, and remember, with great power comes great responsibility.
