I’m not really excited about having to go to class but I am SOOOO excited for radio this semester. This summer has been the best summer of my life, by far, but also the most stressful. Every single day of the past month has been so crazy, and I found myself wanting to return to something that felt familiar and comfortable to me. That desire has led me to this blog, where I will be ranking my top 10 Glee covers. I am ashamed to admit that this list originally had 95 songs and it was extremely difficult to narrow down. They are all number 1 in my heart </3.

10. Against All Odds (Take a Look At Me Now) – Phil Collins (performed by Blaine)
This is one of the many songs I only know the words to because of Glee and I am mostly adding this because Darren Criss performed it live in this episode and it changed my life.
9. Beauty School Drop Out – Frankie Avalon (Performed by Blaine)
I’m pretty sure this song single handedly made me like Grease as a movie. That should be enough of a testament to how good it is.
8. Hello – Lionel Richie (performed by Jesse St. James and Rachel)
I genuinely can’t put into words how I felt the first time I watched this. I had the flu and strep at the same time, so I was basically hallucinating all day, but when this beautiful song graced my ears, I felt like I had been rejuvenated. My health was restored, true story.
7. Total Eclipse Of The Heart – Bonnie Tyler (Performed by Jesse St. James and Rachel)
AND THEN THEY DID IT AGAIN AND IT WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST TIME!!! This duo is actually crazy, and I’m sorry but I can’t not put Jonathan Groff in my top 10. Jonathan Groff saved my life.
6. Another One Bites The Dust – Queen (Performed by Jesse St. James & Vocal Adrenaline)
Unfortunately, I also only know all of the words to this because of the amount of time I spend listening to this cover. Also kind of the main reason I like the song SORRRRRYYYYY. But, like, it’s Jonathan Groff. That’s literally my friend.
Also, for context, Vocal Adrenaline is the name of the rival Glee club. Their leader is Jesse St. James.
5. Somewhere Only We Know – Keane (Performed by Blaine)
I saw a video of this scene on my "For You" page one afternoon and it instantly convinced me to watch Glee. I am forever thankful. Glee is the best thing that’s ever happened in the history of ever. I am begging everyone reading this right now to watch it.. Every part of this scene is so perfect and Darren Criss actually did his big one. Please watch it.
4. When I Get You Alone – Robin Thicke (Performed by Blaine)
The context behind this cover is so bad, I can hardly watch the scene, but it's actually addicting to listen to. I’m honestly annoyed by how much I love this cover because the original is by Robin Thicke, but I’m sorry, it’s fantastic. This song makes me feel the same way I do when I listen to “Jealous” by Nick Jonas, which is arguably one of the best songs ever made, soooooo. Also, this was my top song on Spotify wrapped in 2023. Way too recent :/.
3. Cough Syrup – Young The Giant (Performed by Blaine)
DARREN CRISS DID HIS BIGGEST ONE! Omg this scene is life changing, and so impactful. I can't believe I'm saying it, but thank you Ryan Murphy.
2. Don’t Speak – No Doubt (Performed by Blaine, Kurt, Rachel & Finn)
This episode genuinely had banger after banger, but OH MY GOD this cover was crazy. One of the most pivotal moments of the season, too. I wish this cover could’ve been nominated for a Grammy. Or an Emmy, or both.
1. I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You – Black Kids (Performed by Blaine)
This cover, oh my god, this cover. Phenomenal, show stopping, actually never ever been done before. This song genuinely improves my mood, like, it fills me with joy and whimsy and happiness whenever I hear it. This isn’t only my favorite Glee cover, but also one of my favorite songs in general. In my opinion, this is the only version of this song, I don’t care.
In case it wasn’t obvious already, Blaine is my favorite character, and apparently this is a hot take? TO BE CLEAR, I am a fan of Blaine pre-lobotomy. Season 2 Blaine is superior to every other character in this show apart from Mercedes but they never let her have her moment </3.
