Pause and Replay

There are countless times in our life where we feel weirdly stuck- you suddenly don't get any ideas for a drawing that you want to complete this week, or you have absolutely no idea what to write about as a writer, or a routine that we follow for studying or work abruptly seems to not work anymore- which you might feel is completely unlike you, and you think that maybe, you lost your touch- you lost the uniqueness that you put out through your passions and hobbies.

But you see, oftentimes that's not the case- this sort of creative block, or 'life' block if you can call it is just that- a momentary block which is standing in the way of a beautiful journey ahead, a test put in front of you to show you the mistakes you made unconsciously, and educate you on how and what to learn from it. When these blocks happen, instead of thinking that we are at a dead end, we need to perceive this as an opportunity to look for something new- something that needs to be given a refreshing change from the usual and evolving our identity. This was something that I only learned recently, and I have been thinking about how to navigate through this- it's not that you have lost your 'you factor'- it's just that your 'you factor' is looking for a new element to take itself to the next level and make you shine brighter than before.

I recently came across a sentence that went like this- When you feel like there is a sudden pause in your life, it doesn't mean that you are not growing, or that you are stagnant at one place, neither moving forward nor backward- it simply means that you are 'becoming'. That you are on your way to progress, and to do this you need to figure out what needs to be changed and embrace and work on it in a positive way, often by turning to things that help recharge yourself, like your cherished hobbies, or your favorite songs that are currently (or even in the past) on repeat in your playlist- finding your way back to yourself again. You need to use this pause to replay and reset yourself to become a better person tomorrow.

I often fall into the annoying spiral of writer's block, - and it led me to connect writer's block to other similar blocks we face in life- but one thing that helps me break that wall is talking to people about it, and gaining useful suggestions that in a way, steer me towards that end of the tunnel where the idea is waiting to be taken and manifested physically.

We all have different things that we find comfort in, and the most beautiful part is that that thing is almost always never something very grand or exceptional- the soft pearls of setting sunlight that falls gently on your face, the unexpected calm breeze on a dry day, or the song playing in a nearby cafe that your ears catch on to, or that stranger on a bus who wished you a good day, or a phone call with a close friend- the littlest of things that surround us are capable of being powerful sources of inspiration and motivation in our lives and give us the zest to go after what we want. The number of things that bring positive energy and light up our hearts surpass the confusing blocks that we come across in our lives. It's like how this one TV show reminded through the character's dialogues- 'Don't quit before the miracle happens'.

I recently started writing down quotes that, when I read them each time, give me a sense of positivity and peace. I made it a habit to write down quotes and sentences that I came across in my day-to-day life in this diary and read them whenever I sense that I need it. These quotes were from a book that I started reading, called 'The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari' by Robin Sharma-

'A rose is very much like life. You will meet thorns along the way but if you have faith and believe in your dreams you will eventually go beyond the thorns into the glory of the flower.'

'If there is a lack in your life it is because there is a lack in your thoughts.'

'True nobility lies in being superior to your former self, not to others.'

'You must run your own race.'

That's kind of where this list I began writing has paused for now, waiting for more to join their cohort. But anyway, this was what I wanted to talk to you about today.

See you next week! (While I curl up in bed because it's freeeeeeeezinggggg :))
