Sabor que Enamora / Love at First Taste

Fue mi primer año en el Chicago Gourmet y me encantó. Cocineros famosos, comida deliciosa, pintura facial y bebidas. Millennium Park estaba lleno y las líneas eran súper largas, pero valió la pena. No solo para el público, sino también para los estudiantes de cocina que tuvieron la oportunidad de trabajar con sus chefs ídolos y obtener conexiones.

¿Notaste que las personas con el estómago lleno son más agradables? Bueno, este festival demuestra eso. Todos estaban sonriendo, bromeando, compartiendo mesas con extraños y hablando con ellos. Me senté con una pareja que ha ido al festival todos los años desde que este comenzó.

Si tengo que elegir un plato favorito, sería Smoked Pork Sandwich de Old Crows Smokehouse. Fue amor al primer sabor. El pan era muy suave y la carne literalmente se derritió en mi boca. Dato interesante: ellos ahuman la carne, no se fríen, no se cocinan, sino que se ahuma.

Mi bebida favorita fue el ron Tanduay, que recientemente fue clasificado como el ron más vendido en el mundo.

Chicago Gourmet 2018 fue EPICO!

It was my first year attending the Chicago Gourmet and I absolutely loved it. Famous Chefs, delicious food, face painting, and drinks. Millennium Park was crowded and the lines were super long but it was worth it. Not only for the public but also for the culinary students who got the opportunity to work with their idol chefs and get connections.

Did you notice that people with a full stomach are nicer? Well, this fest proves that. Everyone was smiling, joking around, sharing tables with strangers and actually talking with them. I sat with a couple who have been going to the fest every year since the fest started.

If I have to pick a favorite dish, it would be Smoked Pork Sandwich from Old Crows Smokehouse. It was love at first taste. The bread was very soft and the meat literally melted in my mouth. Interesting fact: They smoke the meat, is not fried, is not cooked, but smoked.

My favorite drink was Tanduay Rum which was recently categorized the world’s best selling rum.
