NXT is the developmental brand of WWE to prepare wrestlers to become sports entertainers, and preparing non-wrestlers to be sports entertainers with the style of wrestling in the WWE; however with the vast amount of people on the roster there isn’t enough time to develop them all to be successful, and some of the NXT stars that go to the main roster of either Raw or Smackdown aren’t successful as they should’ve been, compared to how they were in NXT. I feel NXT can be made into a better developmental brand in two ways.
Make NXT Two Hours Long NXT has a very big roster and don’t have enough time to present all the talent they have on the roster, plus all the talent that signs with them that come from other promotions as well as other wrestlers that are starting to be wrestlers. There are singles males wrestlers like Andrade “Cien” Almas (NXT Champion), Adam Cole, Aleister Black, EC3, Kassius Ohno, Lars Sullivan, Lio Rush, No Way Jose, Pete Dunne (United Kingdom Champion), Tyler Bate, Velveteen Dream, Killian Dain, Tommaso Ciampa, Roderick Strong, among others. Women wrestlers are Ember Moon (NXT Women’s Champion), Nikki Cross, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae, Kairi Sane, Vanessa Borne, etc… Tag Teams would be Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly (NXT Tag Team Champions), Sanity, Authors of Pain, TM-61, Street Prophets, Moustache Mountain, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli. There are also unassigned wrestlers and enhancement talent such as War Machine, Ricochet, Johnny Gargano, Raul Mendoza, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, Chris Dijak and various others. I feel there isn’t enough time to highlight all the talent they have on the roster who deserve to get a spotlight, and try to connect with the fans. Additionally, you can have longer stellar matches like the majority of the ones they’ve been having recently such as Andrade “Cien” Almas vs Johnny Gargano or Aleister Black vs Adam Cole which were two great phenomenal matches and they can have more with the talent they have by making their product two hours long.
Bigger Crowds Right now NXT has very small crowds with about a few hundred people, and it’s mostly hardcore wrestling fans, who come for the pure wrestling. However, I feel that there can be more exposure to the the wrestlers and the brand if there is an expansion to about 1,000 to 2,000 people in the crowds, like some of the big non-WWE shows such as Ring of Honor and New Japan. It can also give casual fans more exposure to the the wrestlers with great talent who only know Raw and Smackdown.
