Welcome back to my tarot learning series! Today, I will be introducing 3 more cards from the Major Arcana: 3 through 5. (Upright is when a card comes out straight, and reversed is when the card comes out upside down.)
THE EMPRESS

Upright: This card represents authentic femininity, fruition, nurturing, and so much more. The Empress isn’t exclusive to anyone — it’s one of the parts of yourself you need to develop in order to find balance. Creativity flows for you, and growth is present.
Reversed: There are blocks in your creativity and growth. You might have some problems being present with yourself. Instead of flowing naturally, you are in a state of blockage and stress directly relating to femininity (issues with self-love, care, unhealed wounds, wrong partner, etc.).
THE EMPEROR

Upright: This card represents authentic masculinity. He’s wearing armor, and his expression looks stoic. His surroundings are also more materialistic compared to the Empress’s nature-filled throne. This represents discipline, rigidity, and logic.
Reversed: Instead of being fair with your power, you are abusing it and harming others or yourself. You lack the discipline you need to grow in life. You may feel like there isn’t much control in your life, but it honestly leads back to your ego and insecurities. Learn to avoid projecting your issues onto others — instead, accept and love yourself.
THE HIEROPHANT

Upright: This card represents a full display of authority, tradition, and knowledge. It can also represent the three parts of your consciousness, as well as religion or spirituality. This card can feel long and hard to understand, but it comes back to union and community. It can show up in marriage, groups that share your thinking, eternal union, or commitment.
Reversed: You might be breaking out of a structured way of thinking you have abided by for a long time. You might be rejecting advice and embracing rebellion just for the sake of rebellion. You cannot move forward if you are constantly accepting other people’s perceptions of you.
