Welcome back everyone! Over break, I visited my grandpa's house in Michigan. I took a lot of photos during my trip, and I would like to share them here.
One of the things I am most grateful for this Thanksgiving is the ability to take photos and to capture both emotional and mundane moments. I think it is a privilege we often take for granted. Having the ability to visually look back on memories is magic. Photography allows us to record important historic events, both in our family, but the world as well. I strongly believe photography has power to invoke action in others and change perspectives.
It captures some of the most disgusting, vile human actions that were either ignored or unknown until photos were taken and shown to the world. In this sense, photography can bring awareness to situations requiring change and intervention.
On the brighter side, photography captures beauty across the world. Beautiful cultural traditions and practices can be shared with people thousands of miles away. Individuals can watch family members grow up, even if they live in a different country.
Finally, photography captures two of my favorite things in the world: nature and the people I love and hold dear to my heart.
Now, what you have been waiting for, here are my photos from my Thanksgiving break:

Let me know what your favorite photo was! I really enjoyed taking these, and I hope you also had a good break!
