Blog! Blog! Blog!

Touchy-Feely

February is always considered a highly romantic month, and I still thought so, even before having my own Valentine (shoutout to my boyfriend). Something about the dead of Winter that assumes we are hopeless, that ends up filling me with even more hope instead. The sun may fade, and the weather may be chilling, but our hearts always find new ways to become warm, new ways to love. Resist the urge to isolate. February is meant to be touchy-feely.

The world can be very harsh to our bodies and minds in the Winter; we need to make sure to carve out time for ourselves between snow squalls. Hibernation sounds very appealing right now.

My February Menu:

Listening to Your Body

  • A majority of what we endure mentally can be found in our bodies. Find a way to listen in on what it is saying, however you may find yourself most able. I like doing yoga and stretching and lying on my bed while listening to my breathing. Whatever it may be, set a date in February (or a couple dates) where you do this activity and focus on being in your body. Dancing is a great option as well ;)

Honoring Pleasure

  • Although resolutions are still in motion, do not let those stop you from small indulgences. Bring yourself towards what brings you pleasure and take a step back from constantly editing yourself.

Sending Invitations

  • Invite someone to something. Be the type of person that brings others in. I am a quality time girl through and through. It truly does not matter what the occasion is, I always want to spend time with the people I love, and what better time than the month associated with love?

Hugs and Kisses

  • Something about kissing my girlfriends on the cheek makes me feel grown up and little at the same time. X and O more (with consent of course). There are so many reasons not to hug and kiss, and this is precisely why we need to more often! February is asking us to soften.

With lots of love,

Kierstyn
