Chronic Rewatcher

Okay, I'm finally ready to confess. Everyone has their flaws, and mine is my love for rewatching the same three things like they're the only movies to ever exist. My watch list is a CVS receipt of recommendations from friends and the internet, but whenever I have spare time I gravitate towards familiar favorites like my life depends on it.
Surely I should be sick of consuming the same media I loved in high school. I already know the plot, the characters, and could probably recite lines like they're song lyrics. But still, there's something so compelling about curling up in bed on a Saturday afternoon with the Twilight series. It's like defibrillating a piece of my soul.
In the interest of convincing you to indulge in these cinematic masterpieces (that's totally a stretch), here's a list of my chronic rewatches and why I love them so much. If you have any similar favorites, please drop them in the comments or on the Off the Record instagram (@off.the.record.blog), I'll totally add it to my list!
Twilight (2008)

If you know me, you're familiar with my obsession with Twilight. It really awakened the inner book nerd in middle-school-me, so I'll always hold it close to my heart. And although it's basically a try-not-to-cringe challenge, I truly think it's one of the best (not in the literal sense, because truly it is far from good) romance movies of our time. If you haven't watched it, what are you actually doing. Get on that expeditiously.

Superman (2025)
I saw this an embarrassing amount of times in theaters, and I've rewatched it an embarrassing amount of times since then. This movie is so comforting. It literally has David Corneswet, a bald super villain, and an amazing soundtrack. What more could you ask for?
This movie genuinely made my summer last year, and I love constantly rewatching it, even as background noise. It never fails to make me tear up, and I can't wait for the sequel next year!
Jaab We Met (2007)

Dare I say the best Bollywood movie of all time. The production might be really awful, but this movie has been with me through thick and thin and I'll never stop being obsessed with it.
I first watched this on a bus in Pakistan at seven years old with no audio and no subtitles, and it's stuck with me ever since. I resonate with the main character, Geet, so much and love her lively spirit. I highly recommend this movie to all romance lovers!
And those are my top three rewatches! Each of them is comforting and iconic in their own ways. Part of the reason they're so special to me personally is because they're attached to different parts of my life, which makes me feel super happy and nostalgic.
