Two-Faced Radio is just one of the many new shows here at UIC Radio. Hosted by freshmen Belle Petajan and Tess Wyniemko, Two-Faced Radio brings a new face of queer music to UIC radio; focusing on local chicago artists and artists who have been censored in the past.
Our goal is to give our listeners the opportunity to listen to their current favorite artists while introducing them to our favorites. We look forward to highlighting Phoebe Bridgers, Mitsky, Lucy Dacus, Tv Girl, Bikini Kill, Sidney Gish, Frankie Cosmos, Dazey and The Scouts, and much more. We hope to create a space for people to discover music from artists that we have been deeply influenced by. We would like to create a space for queer music to be played loud and proud.
Meet The Hosts!
Two-Faced Radio is hosted by Belle Petajan and Tess Wyniemko. When they aren’t in the studio, you can find them at a show, the thrift, Ground-Up or listening to music outside! Chicago native Belle Petajan is an aspiring teacher, and always on the go— you’ve definitely spotted her running around campus with her headphones on. Some of Belle’s favorite artists are: The Strokes, David Bowie, Leith Ross, Nora Jones, Mitski, and Lucy Dacus. In her free time she likes thrifting, making zines and prints, and playing music on the guitar. Co-Host Tess is going to school to eventually become a physical therapist. The artists she’s into are Remi Wolf, Grouplove, Snail Mail, Mom Jeans, Ashnikko, and Destroy Boys.
We are looking forward to sharing Fridays from 3-4pm CST with you, highlighting local and queer bands! Join us on uicradio.org or through the RadioFX app! See you Friday UIC!
