I knew of Jane Remover's existence since 2020, with a few songs they put out during that early COVID hyper-pop phase that I listened to every now and then during that era, but I didn't truly discover them until early 2022, during a time where I was struggling with my identity. Their first studio album, Frailty, helped me through this time where I was struggling to figure out who I was. Jane Remover is also an artist that has evolved with me musically, with their first album Frailty being an indietronica/hyper-pop masterpiece, a sound that controlled my life from COVID times up until my freshman year of high school in 2021, and when I decided to branch out my music taste for the first time in a while and look into unexplored (to me, at least) genres like rock and all the sub-genres like shoegaze and post-rock, in October of 2023, Jane Remover dropped another masterpiece, this time a complete 180 from her first album.

Census Designated, which was a noisy, gritty, post-rock work of art, completely altered my perception of music from the first listen, abrasive, loud tracks like "Fling" and "Contingency Song", loud guitars and screams and heavy drums blended into the background, it was so different to me at the time but stuck out to me so much that the album instantly became a 10 for me. Also, I'm currently writing this on the album's second anniversary of it being released, so happy birthday, Census Designated.

In April of this year, Jane Remover released Revengeseekerz, their third studio album, circling back to their digicore roots but with rage-rap influences and production so detailed you’d think they invented music all over again. Not only did they drop 2 full albums in 2025, but they released yet another mixtape earlier in August, titled Indie rock. Indie rock, named after a lyric from one of her previous songs, was a 17 song pure rage-rap mixtape which they dropped on a burner Soundcloud account. Indie rock stayed online for about 2 hours before they then took it down, never to be seen again (if fans never ripped the entire tape from Soundcloud and reuploaded it), which they said was for the reason that “only the fans can have it”.

This is all without mentioning their side projects, venturing and leroy. Venturing, once a fake band with a lore set created by Jane themself, is now just an indie-rock side project of hers, which she released another stellar album, Ghostholding, under this alias about 2 months before Revengeseekerz. Leroy, another Jane side project, houses multiple albums of an EDM subgenre called “dariacore” (which Jane practically invented herself), combining samples from pop culture, underground music, and everything in between with loud and wacky snares and kicks to create the most dense-sounding electronic music you might have ever heard in your life (just listen to Dariacore 3 and you’ll instantly understand). Jane Remover is an incredible producer, writer, and artist, who I can safely say, after seeing them live 5 times and having matured physically and emotionally with their entire discography being at the forefront of my personal soundtrack, Jane Remover is the most important artist to me, and my favorite artist of all time.
