lovesick

i think love comes at the least expected times. whether it’s coming from my mom or friends, i feel the most loved when i really need it.

have you ever said “i love you” even though you didn’t mean it? the reason why many of us have said this before, i believe, comes from not knowing what it feels to love someone. you learn your “love language,” and you learn theirs. don’t compare it.

love is an experience everyone deserves at least once. love is not toxic, but it makes you sick. will they apologize? will they be the shoulder you cry on?

at the age of 15, i did not know how or what loving someone outside of my family or our friends was, or meant. with my mistakes, i learned that you can break someone. love can make you feel empty when it moves on to another person. love can be lonely, but it can also be happy.

what color does love remind you of? red, because my blood boils every time we argue.  love is a commitment, a work in progress, a type of sickness that you don’t want to cure.

listen to don tolivers new album lovesick.
